Inward Nexus
Homelessness is always known in countries that lack basic needs and necessities however in a well-built country like Singapore, there are still homeless people who are unable to find a house. Therefore, this project aims to provide temporary shelters for the homeless to stay overnight. It also aims to provide social interaction and private spaces to prevent loneliness and encourage the users to socialize.
This design "Inward Nexus" consists of overnight temporary and transitional shelters for the homeless. The main target audience is outdoor enthusiasts who can utilize the nearby recreational facilities around the site. The goal is to foster a sense of connection amongst the target users while maintaining their privacy. It is achieved by creating an inward-focused design by incorporating courtyards and balconies as central spaces for them to socialize.
